Testifying virtually from Sukamiskin Prison, Nurhadi detailed a system of extortion where inmates faced severe consequences for delayed payments.

According to Nurhadi, inmates who fell behind on their monthly payments experienced a variety of punishments. These included the withholding of drinking water, the cutting off of water supply, and the tampering with food deliveries. "The food sent by my family would go missing," Nurhadi testified, adding that fruits were the most common items to disappear.
